The first city of tomorrow will appear in Spain in 2023.
Watching
science-fiction films was always an interesting piece of art that helped us to
try to fantasize different kinds of sophisticated and technologically advanced
futuristic devices. We have already come to the point where you breathe air
overendowed with internet, electric vehicles like tesla “cybertruck” is ready
to the hit the world and virtual reality incrementally commingles with current
reality.
But are you
really ready to live in a city of tomorrow? Well, at least you have time to
think till 2023 when the first “smart” city in Europe is going to appear in
Spain. Disney park, a football stadium with 40,000 seats, railway station,
several resorts, free Wi-Fi throughout the city is not even a full list of obvious
bells and whistles in Elysium.
As
conceived by the developers, Elysium City will be consistent with the UN's
research development goals like clean energy, responsible consumption, gender
quality education, etc. The construction of a smart city will take place near
the city of Castilblanco in Extremadura autonomy in southwestern Spain in two
stages.
The first
phase of construction, which will be completed in 2023, involves the
construction of four hotels, a casino, a high-speed railway, a water park and a
Disney theme park, several restaurants, shopping and entertainment centers, as
well as a golf course, stadiums and city services buildings.
About two
thousand residential objects will be located in green areas with cycle tracks
and "health pathways", provided with intelligent solar-powered
infrastructure and smart street lighting.
The second
stage of construction, planned to be completed in 2028, includes new hotels, an
equestrian center and the Formula 1 racing track. During the first year of
operation, the city expects to attract 4.5 million visitors.
The future
has arrived!
