IOI Properties Group has launched a $660 million share sale for its Malaysian property trust, according to reporting on the offering. The transaction is part of the planned listing of IOIPG Malaysia Real Estate Investment Trust on Bursa Malaysia.

AsiaOne reported that IOI Properties is marketing the sale of IOIPG Malaysia Real Estate Investment Trust, with the offering valued at about 5.3 billion ringgit based on a retail price of 96 sen per unit. The listing and related offering follow earlier regulatory and company announcements on the proposed REIT structure.

Why it matters for investors

The deal is notable because it is one of the larger Malaysian REIT offerings in recent years and could influence pricing for the trust at listing. It also gives investors a new listed vehicle backed by a portfolio of Malaysian retail, office and hotel assets.

➡️ The sale could help establish a market valuation for the listed REIT platform.

➡️ The offering may also be watched as a test of investor demand for Malaysian income assets.

IOI Properties has said the REIT is part of its broader effort to unlock asset value and strengthen its capital position.
