A new trend on the real estate market
After the coronavirus pandemic, many people will not return to offices, but will remain to work remotely. This will provoke a housing boom in small towns and suburbs, writes Forbes. 75% of Americans would like to continue working from home, at least half the time, after the pandemic. Two-thirds of employees (66%) will consider moving if they continue to work remotely.
This can be conditional upon the fact, that people have realized the importance of space, so they are looking for more affordable locations with a larger area at the same price.
Living in the center of a metropolis was traditionally associated with a status, wealth and saved much time on the way to work. This trend has led to an extreme increase in housing prices in the centers of large cities in the past decade. A pandemic will change the way people perceive living in the city center as well as on suburbs.
If the situation goes in a similar vein with the pandemic, Americans can start searching and moving somewhere outside the city. Even now they are interested in spacious houses with plots in more economical locations. Moving to larger homes will allow to have a free room that can be used as an office.
